NI did a superb job actually thinking thru workflows and how to efficiently integrate that with the hardware. I find maschine to be way easier to sketch and get ideas out compared to Push with Live. You could totally run live lite as your daw to fine tune Maschine compositions. Do you already have maschine? MK3 is solid hardware especially with the integrated audio interface and NI continues to improve the Maschine software thru updates. It's almost as if Ableton had lost its creative edge. There wasn't a whole lot of new features added to 10 and the subsequent updates have been lackluster. But to call it a fully featured update was a slap in the face of the user base. Imo, live 10 should have been a free update labeled under 9.7 or something. have you looked at Bitwig? If you're still using Lite I'd give it serious consideration before "fully" committing to a daw. It seems that this is as good of a discount as this will get. I'm trying real hard to convince myself I need to upgrade from Lite 9 to Standard 10.
